Seems I will not be joining the ranks of Dolby Labs. A call from HR late today confirmed that the honor would go to another applicant. Seems I can’t get ahead no matta what I do.
As a result my spirits are down today, so until tomorrow…

Well the interview was a 4 hour affair, but I believe I did well… even on the test. I also discovered I was the number one candidate.. but there are still 2-3 other applicants in the hunt. I was deeply saddened to hear that James Kim was found dead today in the Oregon wilderness. While I did not know James Kim, I did feel a kinship with him, as I am sure many did in the tech community here in the bay area. We lost one of our own.

I am sorry to hear the news, but believe it to be Dolby’s loss. What it means in the big picture is that there is something better out there. I believe that progress is slowly but surely being made towards a bigger goal that has nothing to do with “www” or dot, slash, org, gov or com. Look ahead, see the horizon and go for it.
