We have safely arrived in Sydney, with thoughts of New Zealand still fresh in our minds. Auckland is an amazing city, reminiscent of San Francisco and Vancouver, its denizens friendly and gracious. There’s almost a 1950s feel to the place, not that I was around at that time to say for sure.
Since it is winter (they seem to skip the fall entirely), the weather was a bit dodgy and we were unable to be as adventurous as we would have liked. Hobbiton and the glow worm caves were unfortunately out. So we decided to stay close to Auckland and the local environs.
To the right you’ll find a few snapshots from our travels. Some of the highlights include Skycity Tower, Rangitoto Island and the black sands of Piha Beach along the western coast.
The updates should be coming more frequently now, so, it’s off to the Sydney Opera House. Toodles!

McCain doesn't support veterans. Time and time again he has vetoed or waved measures that would create or increase funding for veterans health benefits.

It might be just me but I found the clip below which ran recently on a local TV station outrageous. The Federal Reserve along with local banks and credit unions want to take the sting out of sending money south of the border by offering services that make it easier and less expensive. Over 5 million people send money back to Mexico on a regular basis.

Last week the McCain camp released a new campaign poster “Peace is born of Wisdom” (viewable here). I found the image and message so disingenuous I decided to craft my own campaign poster more reflective of McCain’s initial views on the Iraq War and his continued rhetoric about Iran.

As many of you know, Chad — my partner and best friend of 8 years — tied the knot late last month. We’d like to thank everyone who shared the special day with us (and thankyou cards will be in the mail shortly, we promise :), and hope everyone had a wonderful time. I know our memories will last a life time.
I know for many it was their first same-sex wedding, and hopefully won’t be their last. Unless of course Proposition 8 passes in November, and that my friends, is the hangover.
If Proposition 8 passes, all same-sex weddings in the state of California will come to an end, and may invalidate our own wedding, as well as all gay and lesbian weddings since June of this year. While polls look favorable at the moment, a 50% plus majority rejecting the measure, a lot can change between now and November. If you can, visit NOONPROP8.COM and lend your support.
On a brighter note, we have finally posted our engagement and wedding photos

Well, truth be told, we’ve been back for some time but it’s always difficult getting back into the swing of things.
For those of you who don’t know we decided to go domestic this time around and went on an “east coast tour.” We started in Atlanta and ended up in New York by way of [...]
