activism, lgbt, video Add comments (4)The National Organization for Marriage is launching a nation-wide TV campaign against gay marriage starting in New York, Rhode Island and California. The ominous ad promises a “gathering storm” where freedoms are be taken away, churches punished, and schools are allowed to teach that gay marriage is “okay.” Watch.
Where marriage equality opponents see a gathering storm, the rest of us see the clouds breaking… and it’s a beautiful sight.

I keep waiting to see Wolverine come out and slash the green screen… What an amazing waste of money on the part of the producers. I imagine this group would have aired a commercial with burning crosses advocating against interracial marriage as well.

Now now. The sad fact is that those opposed are blasted just for their own convictions and beliefs. This country is founded on the ability for people to equally oppose on issues that others support. Any refernce to race shows a lack of intelligence. Race and sexual orientation are two very different things even though they are listed together as protected groups in certain places. There are poeple who believe homosexuality is a deviant and perverse lifestyle. The term homophobia is a very weak and overused defense. Do people really have to be afraid of it just becuase they are opposed or disgusted by that lifestyle? It has only been 15 or maybe twenty years ago where the general public was absolutely disgusted and it was considered perverse and deviant. Truthfully, this cause has made quicker strides in gaining rights than any minority race in history. A man is not made biologically to be with another man. It is either a learned choice or a birth defect of a hormone imbalance. Should people born with an addictive persoanlity be able to use drugs? What about those people who have a sexual preference for children? The government shouldn’t be making a special case for this set of deviants just becuase they are the least harmful of the lot. Children certaily do not need to be taught that this is a choice. TV is doing enough by shamfully cramming this down the public’s throat with a token gay character in every show. We should go on teaching the natural and biological union of man and woman. Those who feel different because of the way they are made have counseling and other support groups to learn about their condition. And make no mistake, it is a condition and not a normal, natural, and biologically correct state of being. This is not to bash or put down those who have this condition, but also not to run and hide behind soft political correctness.
