Bay Area photographer Bill Wilson spoke briefly with Michelle Obama at an event he covered in San Francisco yesterday, kicking off the United We Serve program. Wilson, who is gay and recently married to his partner of 22 years by Mayor Gavin Newsom, told the First Lady we need to get rid of DOMA. The exchange via The Petrelis Files below:
Bill Wilson: My husband and I have been together 23 years. We need to get rid of the Defense of Marriage Act.
Michelle Obama: I agree.
Bill Wilson: We need it done now.
Michelle Obama: It will be.
Bill Wilson: I really want to be able to support him.
Michelle Obama: As well you should!
Bill Wilson: We really do want him to succeed.
Michelle Obama: I’ll tell him.
(At this point she leaned over to give me a hug.)
As she stepped away I said, “We were married by the Mayor last year.”
Michelle Obama: Give your husband a hug from me.
I met Bill recently covering the GLAAD Media Awards and am glad he was able to speak to Michelle Obama on behalf of the gay community. Is it possible we have a “fierce advocate” in the White House after all?

No it is not possible. They will say a lot of things to keep you happy, but won’t move on any of our issues until they fear our money will truly vanish from their coffers. The problem is Obama is too interested in keeping the fundamentalist Christians who voted for him happy. He will not undermine that support by being our “fierce advocate”. He and the Dems believe we have no where to go, since the Reps are fully dispised. We need to call their bluff and stop donating and voting for them.
Michelle says,”As well you should! ” in response to the statement “I really want to be able to support him”. What an arrogant statement! He should be supporting us, then we can talk about giving our support. LGBT already gave it now it is time for Obama to live up to his promises. I wouldn’t hold your breath.

This will never happen and it is insignificant anyway. People need jobs, affordable housing, health care and decent schools. The self-indulgent crap needs to take the trunk, never mind the back seat. Bet you have more income then the average single mother family of five! Put you life in perspective and if you believe anything that this woman tells you, explain to me why? He got elected. That’s where it stops, duh.

I find it absolutely amazing that gay advocates have totally forgotten that not only is homosexuality against the will of God, but what about AIDS??? When men have sex with men, disease follows. There are now approximately 1.1 million cases of AIDS in America with over 810,000 of those cases among homosexual and bisexual men. There are about 12 different STD’s that are only present in homosexual men because of the type of sex they engage in, which often involves human waste. Research and papers have been written by doctors, scientists, the CDC, and the World Health Organization about the dangers related to homosexual sex and yet here we are, totally ignoring this information and allowing a group that represents less than 3% of the population re-define marriage and create laws that will make us all like Boston, which teaches kindergarten kids that it is okay to homosexual. People better wake up and speak up. There is no upside to allowing men to marry men, only abomination and disease.
