“Picture it! Sicily…1934…” It’s certainly a phrase that everyone knows (and many of us use). I’d never really thought about the comparison you drew between Golden Girls and Sex & the City, but you’re absolutely right.

I too will remember that about this year’s Pride. As one who infrequently attends the event, I was glad for many reasons that I went this year and took it all in. As you write about the very apparent theme of marriage in this year’s parade, I am really glad that this was the year that I said “I’ll go” and see it all. Of course, the company wasn’t bad either which was icing on the cake!

Thank you for sharing the clip. Thank you for remembering the “leftovers” bit - truly a Carlin-ism… I guess I thought George Carlin would be around forever - his “wisdom” will definitely live on for a long, long time.

I knew little of him until you introduced him to me and initially was in shock by the content of his humor, but he was right about a lot of stuff (which he converted into humor).
I just watched a clip on the ‘7 words you cannot say on t.v.’ and it was hilarious.
They sure don’t make comedians like him anymore. RIP George.
